For some girls, awkward guys are cute. They think of it as more innocent and nicer. But that still depend of what kind of girl she is.

First impression is just like starting a story, you need to caught the attention and interest of your viewer/reader/listener. And as the story goes, some of the viewer forgot the relevant  the beggining to the climax and end of the story.

Just be yourself, and pursuit to win her heart in the nicest and most sincere way you can. Then one day you will hear her say “At first I thought you were an awkward loser, but I was wrong. I should know you better.”
